Sheila Bandyopadhyay is a theatrical movement specialist with certifications in the Alexander Technique and Vinyasa Yoga. She teaches the Alexander Technique, ATyoga (Alexander infused yoga), and is Head of Movement at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She has also taught at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, Shakespeare & Company, and the Linklater Center among others.

Sheila holds a Master's Degree in Movement and Physical Performance from NYU's Gallatin school and has trained with both Shakespeare & Company of Lenox, MA and Dell'Arte International in Blue Lake, CA. Sheila trained in Alexander with John Nicholls and Nanette Walsh and is a member of the American Society of the Alexander Technique. She completed her 200 hour Yoga certification with Three Sisters Yoga.

As an actor, Sheila specializes in collaboratively devised physical theater and classical acting, especially the plays of Shakespeare. Sheila has performed extensively in New York and New England, and her collaborative work has been seen at The Artist's of Tomorrow Festival, the Minneapolis and Montreal Fringe Festivals and Fringe NYC. Most recently, Sheila played Bianca & others in The Tempest Ladies production of The Taming of the Shrew.
